about the project
Co-Development: Summer 2021:
During our time with the Master Chief Collection we focused on:

Extended localization, adding community-requested languages to an already extensive library of localization options.

Color accessibility support for all 3 types of colour-blindness (protanopia, deuteranopia, tritanopia). This went beyond just applying shaders uniformly, since we wanted to preserve graphical fidelity while providing deeper customization options for each filter.

Subtitle customization; unifying the subtitle system across several different engines while looking into options like high contrast text, font scaling, and creating pipelines to get the community engaged with improving the overall fidelity of the subtitles.
These features were implemented for both console and PC as part of a single project.
Co-Development - 2022:
Following on from our great collaboration last year, 343 reached out to Abstraction again to work together on more accessibility features to continue through all of 2022.
The covered features aim to improve the experience of not only people with disabilities but also add quality of life improvements for a wider, general, audience.
Visual, auditory, motor, and gameplay related accessibility features are all being taken into consideration and investigated to see how we can enhance Halo without changing its identity or giving unfair advantages in multiplayer.
